I would like to share my thoughts and praise for Paul Amato.I reside on Cape Cod and three years ago I had a number of incidents which occurred and if it wasn't for Paul I'm  not quite sure where I would be today. First of all on Memorial Day my older brother died from a massive heart attack attack at the age of 62.Four months later my wife died passed away from cancer at the age of 53.Several months passed  and I developed pneumonia , spending three months in a Boston hospital.Needless to say it was a tough year.I decided I needed to see someone for some help.I was very fortunate to find Paul.A true professional and wonderful person.Thank you. I've seen many therapists in the past, but I can honestly say that Paul has been the most helpful. I went to him originally to help me get out of a very emotionally stressful / abusive relationship. Not only did Paul help me realize that I should not stay in the relationship (because it was so toxic) but he gave me the strength to finally end it in a safe way and to help me grieve my losses / prepare for any situation that may happen when I did end it. Going into therapy, I thought that I would just see Paul for this one issue, but it turns out that therapy (this time around) has been so beneficial for me that I continue to see him even now -- he has helped me deal with emotional issues, family problems, and negative body image as well. Paul is funny, easy to talk to, and the best therapist I've seen. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking therapy. When I think about my life today compared to 6 months ago (it's like night and day) I know that Paul is to thank.

"In seeking a therapist for my husband and myself, we identified how finding the "right fit" was to our progress. We find Paul's approach to be tactful and compassionate the uses of examples from his own experiences has put us at ease; feeling safe to share our inner most thoughts and feelings. Without judgment. We appreciate his humor and gentle demeanor. Since being clients of Paul we have made great progress toward healthier states of being."

Paul's nonjudgmenetal style puts you at ease upon your first meeting.  His approach to life and solving problems and providing hands on ways to help yourself is the next.  therapy only works if you are ready to work at yourself...honestly.  Paul simply put helps you to do that...he provides honest insight, unique perspective and offers critical suggestions if you are open to it...Paulisms are always echoing in my ear as I travel throught my daily life...Life is certainly not easy and Paul has helped me to navigate through it the best way I know how...  Looking at my faults, fears and being introspective is not easy either but Paul helps to put it into perspective and allows me to be me every session..the good the bad and the ugly!  He holds me accountable and really makes me think about my decision making my life choices...heis reality based and he always assists me with my cognitive/thinking stuff...sometimes stinkin' thinkin' gets in the way and Paul helps me to see beyond and always identify my true potiential..he's helping me to be the person I am and want to be.  He always provides a safe place for me to be me and accepts me for who I am at that moment when I walk in his office-however I am presenting in that moment he works with me through it!  Therapy isn't certainly for everyone but I have to tell you I've been to my share and he is unique in that we have a dialogue...not a criticism of me but he truly is there to guide and help.  He is sincere which many I've encountered is not the case...he genuinely cares...he doesn't make the experience uncomfortable and any stigma attached to seeing a "therapist" is certainly out the window!!

“Contacting a therapist for help  was probably one of the scariest things I ever had to do.  It took me many years, and many downward spirals before I finally came to terms with the fact that I needed to do this to heal so many areas of my life. I had originally thought that a female therapist might be best but when I looked up Paul, I decided to call him. I was terrified. He put me RIGHT at ease. His "bedside manor" was one of extreme compassion, and understanding. It made me take that next scary step of going in to see him. Many times I think (in this day and age especially) people go into medicine, and the counseling field, and their patients are just NUMBERS to them. OR they treat every patient the same. From the START Paul treated my case as one unique to me, and conducted the sessions according to my needs as an individual. He does ALL he can to try to help me through each and every one of my darkest moments, and make the painful parts of therapy as comfortable for me as possible. My schedule is also very unpredictable each week  because I am self employed. He ALWAYS finds a way to fit me in somewhere so that my journey towards healing is not disrupted. The thing that has REALLY helped above ALL else is his compassion. You can just TELL that this is a person who TRULY wanted to be a therapist because he wanted to help people; you see a person with whom being a therapist was their "CALLING". His patients, and their recovery seem to mean the world to him. When he works with a patient he sees a person who is in PAIN who he REALLY wants to help.  That means the WORLD to someone who is scared and suffering. I would recommend Paul to ANYONE who is ready to heal their life.”

“Paul is a caring, well-informed, effective therapist whose supportive interventions leave you thinking about how to change your life for the better. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a counselor who can help you change the areas of your life that need help. Paul gets to know you as a client and caters his approach to what will work best for you. Great therapist!”

I always leave his office feeling rejuvenated and sometimes that's all you need to move forward. “

Let me tell you, he has lived up to that qualification. I have worked with several therapists in my day, directly and indirectly and I am well aware that it can be hit or miss and an extensive process to find the "right" fit. Paul has a wonderful sense of humor and has been able to make the process one of ease. He has an open, honest approach...he listens and actually pays attention to what I am saying as I tend to babble and it is easy to get lost in my dialogue!! But, Paul takes it a step further and allows me to explore myself, understand myself, he provides unique perspective, he holds me accountable, too which is absolutely necessary!! He provides insight and makes me think-he does not judge! He takes you as how you present to him at the time!!Type your paragraph here.
